About this role:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Senior Underwriter to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for assessing, evaluating, and underwriting insurance contracts and policies. You will analyze various risk factors, review contract terms and conditions, and make informed decisions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in insurance underwriting, exceptional analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of industry regulations.

Salary: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience, plus bonus

You will analyze various risk factors, review contract terms and conditions, and make informed decisions to determine appropriate coverage and pricing. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in insurance underwriting, exceptional analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of industry regulations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ability to perform underwriting analysis for commercial lines business.
- Quoting and rating business in internal underwriting management system and carrier contract binding platforms.
- Assess insurance contracts applications and policies to evaluate risk factors, coverage requirements, and determine insurability.
- Analyze potential risks associated with insurance contracts, considering factors such as claims history, loss ratios, industry trends, and market conditions.
- Review and analyze contract terms, conditions, and endorsements to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, regulatory standards, and company policies.
- Establish appropriate premium rates based on risk evaluation and determine coverage limits, deductibles, and term accordingly.
- Develop and maintain underwriting guidelines, ensuring they align with industry best practices, legal requirements, and company objectives.
- Collaborate with brokers, agents, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information, negotiate terms, and resolve underwriting-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of underwriting decisions, policy endorsements, and other relevant information. Generate reports and communicate underwriting decisions to stakeholders as required.
Experience:
- 5+ years' experience with commercial underwriting.
- Proven experience as an Underwriter or similar role in the insurance industry.
- Must have your property and casualty license.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks and make informed decisions.
- Sound knowledge of insurance policies, contracts, and industry regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with brokers, agents, and internal stakeholders.
- Proficient in using underwriting software and other relevant tools.
